Saw Maung, Alinga Kyaw Swa (1900-69), major traditional painter, 1920s-60s. Studied under his father, Saya Aye. Managed a large crew of painters who did works for religious buildings in Burma. His painting set Sixteen Dreams of King Kosala is of particular interest. Did a small oeuvre of secular works in which he experimented quite freely, sometimes mixing the Traditional and Western style. Traveled to USA, England, China, and Hong Kong in the 1950s. Received highest award for arts in Burma.
